The app does not open

Fix SiteAud!tLint start-up problems on Windows, including missing Python, a failed first-run setup, and how to get the error message to send to support.

Most start-up problems happen during the first-run setup of the zip version, which needs Python and an internet connection.

Get the error message

Double-click Start SiteAuditLint (troubleshoot).bat. It starts the app with a visible console so any error stays on screen. Send that message to support.

If it says "Run Start SiteAuditLint.bat first to complete setup", the first-run setup never finished. Run Start SiteAuditLint.bat again with internet on.

Python is missing or too old

The setup needs Python 3.10 or newer. Install Python 3.12 from python.org, tick Add python.exe to PATH during setup, then run Start SiteAuditLint.bat again.

The setup was interrupted

Delete the .venv folder inside the app folder and run Start SiteAuditLint.bat again. This reinstalls the libraries. Your audits are stored elsewhere and are not affected.

A folder inside a folder

If you see a folder named SiteAuditLint inside another folder of the same name, you extracted into the wrong level. Move the inner folder up, or extract again choosing the parent folder.

Antivirus or company policy

Some antivirus tools and managed PCs block unsigned .bat files or new Python environments. Try the installer version, or ask your IT team to allow the app folder.
