SiteAud!tLint Support

Install on macOS and Linux

Open the macOS .dmg on Apple Silicon or Intel Macs, or run the Linux AppImage or tar.gz package, and fix first-launch blocks.

From version 0.7.1, SiteAud!tLint is built natively for macOS and Linux as well as Windows. Each build contains its own copy of Python and every library, so nothing else needs installing.

macOS

Download the .dmg that matches your Mac: macos-arm64 for Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) or macos-x86_64 for Intel Macs. Open it and drag SiteAud!tLint into Applications.

If macOS says the app cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified, right-click the app in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. You only do this once. Builds that are signed and notarized with an Apple Developer ID open without this step.

Linux

Two formats are available for x86_64:

  • AppImage: make it executable with chmod +x SiteAuditLint-*.AppImage, then run it. No install needed.
  • tar.gz: unpack it and run ./install.sh to add SiteAud!tLint to your applications menu.

On a fresh system the Qt window library may need one extra package. On Debian and Ubuntu:

sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0

Where audits are saved

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/SiteAuditor/audits.db
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/SiteAuditor/audits.db

Run from source

Developers can run the same code on any system with Python 3.10 or newer:

python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
python run_app.py

Applies to SiteAud!tLint 0.7.1 and later. Current version 0.7.1.
