Where your audits are stored

Find the local SQLite audit database on Windows, macOS and Linux, back it up, move it to a new computer, and see where connection secrets are kept.

Every audit is saved on your computer in one SQLite database file. Nothing is uploaded to a SiteAud!tLint server.

On Windows, paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\SiteAuditor into the File Explorer address bar to open the folder.

What the database holds

All crawled pages, issues, scores, audit history for every site, backlink imports, AI visibility answers, and the link between each issue type and its Linear ticket.

Back up or move to a new computer

1. Close SiteAud!tLint.
2. Copy audits.db somewhere safe.
3. On the new computer, install the app, start it once, close it, and replace the new audits.db with your copy.

Replacing or moving the app folder never deletes audits, because the database lives outside it.

Secrets are stored separately

Slack webhook URLs, Slack bot tokens, Linear API keys and AI model API keys are kept in the system keychain (Windows Credential Manager entry "SiteAuditLint"), never in the settings file or the audit database. If the keyring package is missing, they fall back to a file in the app data folder and Settings shows a warning.

Logs

Scheduled runs write to %LOCALAPPDATA%\SiteAuditor\SiteAuditor\logs\scheduled-audits.log. The Activity Log page in the app shows the current session.
