Run your first site audit
Enter a start URL, watch the crawl, and read the Dashboard, Issues and Action Plan to find what to fix first on your website.
An audit crawls a website the way a search engine bot does: it starts at one URL, follows internal links and XML sitemaps, then runs technical SEO, on-page, content, internal linking, image, structured data, performance, accessibility, security and AEO / GEO checks on every page it reaches.
Start the crawl
- Click Run New Audit in the header.
- Enter the start URL, usually the home page, for example
https://www.example.com/. Use the version of the domain your site actually serves (https, with or without www) so the first request does not start on a redirect. - Start the audit. The progress bar is blue while crawling, and the status line shows the page count.
After the last page, SiteAud!tLint checks outbound links, runs site-wide checks and loads the results. On large sites the status line shows each step, for example "Checking external links 240 / 600", then "Loading results".
You can Stop at any time. A stopped audit keeps the pages crawled so far, shows an amber progress bar, and is never posted to Slack or synced to Linear.
Read the results
The sidebar follows four questions:

Start with Overview. It shows site health out of 100, URL health (healthy, needs attention, redirected, broken, blocked), answer engine readiness and the five Priority Fixes at the top of the Action Plan.
Work through the fixes
Open Critical Issues for the work list of problems that block indexing or break pages. Click any issue to see why it matters, how to fix it, and every affected URL with its evidence. Copy URLs and Export URLs hand the list to a developer.
Double-click any URL for its details: status code, indexability, title and meta description lengths, headings, word count, inlinks, outlinks, images, schema and response headers. Right-click a URL to open it in a browser, copy it or show only its issues.
Measure the change
When fixes are live, run the audit again on the same site. Every new audit is compared with the previous one automatically, so the header shows the change in site health and Compare lists new, fixed, increased and decreased issues. See Action Plan and Compare.
Frequently asked questions
Why did the audit stop at 100 pages?
The Free edition audits the first 100 pages. A banner says how many more URLs were found but not checked. See Editions and page limits.
Can I audit a site I do not own?
Yes, for example a competitor. Keep Respect robots.txt on and add a small delay so you do not load their server. See Crawl settings explained.
