Severity levels and colours
What Critical, Warning, Opportunity and Info mean in SiteAud!tLint, how impact and effort rank the Action Plan, and what each colour stands for.
Every issue has one severity, and every colour in the app has one meaning. The same scale is used in the app, the HTML report, the CSV exports, Slack messages and Linear ticket priorities.
| Severity | Colour | Meaning | Linear priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Critical | Red | Blocks indexing, breaks pages or loses traffic. Fix first. | Urgent |
| Warning | Amber | Weakens rankings, crawling or measurement. | High |
| Opportunity | Yellow | A smaller improvement with a modest effect on its own. | Medium |
| Info | Blue | A note to review, such as a redirect or canonical. Never lowers the score. | None |
Green means fixed, passed, improved or healthy. Red is never used for decoration inside the tool, so a red number always means a problem.
Impact and effort
Each issue type also has an impact (High, Medium, Low) and an effort to fix (High, Medium, Low). The Action Plan uses both, with severity and the number of affected URLs, to rank what to do first. Quick Wins are low effort fixes that matter, such as a missing viewport tag or a broken internal link.
Some examples from the issue library:
| Issue | Severity | Impact | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Client error (4xx) | Critical | High | Low |
| Noindex directive | Warning | High | Low |
| Thin content | Warning | Medium | High |
| Missing canonical tag | Opportunity | Low | Low |

The issue library lists all checks by category and severity, with the same why and how-to-fix text as the app.
