Independent SiteAuditLint analysis
SiteAuditLint crawled 100 URLs on humanmade.com and found no critical issues. Server response time is the dominant finding: 98 of 100 URLs took longer than 1 second, with a median of 2,691 ms. Twelve category archives set to noindex and one sitewide navigation redirect follow.

What stood out
Overall assessment
humanmade.com has excellent on-page and content foundations. Every page has a title, structured data is present on all 99 analyzed pages, 98 use question-led headings, llms.txt is in place and the Content, Accessibility and Tracking scores are all 100.
Performance is the one weak area, scoring 85. Almost every URL took over a second, from 1,041 ms to 5,785 ms, which suggests responses are generated without full-page caching. For an agency that sells enterprise WordPress, this is the most visible gap.
Two smaller patterns remain. Twelve category archives return noindex, follow with no canonical, meta description or og:description, and the main navigation links to /wordpress-services-and-consulting/, which 301 redirects to /expertise on 99 pages.
Audit methodology
SiteAuditLint started from the website's homepage and crawled up to 100 URLs by following discoverable internal links and the URLs listed in the XML sitemap. Results represent the URLs reached during the crawl and do not constitute a complete audit of the entire website.

Major findings
1. Slow responses on almost every URL
HighFinding: 98 of 100 URLs took longer than 1,000 ms to respond. Times ranged from 1,041 ms to 5,785 ms, with a median of 2,691 ms. The homepage took 2,112 ms.
Why it matters: Slow first responses delay every page view and reduce how many pages crawlers fetch per visit. A sitewide pattern points to caching rather than individual pages.
| URL | Result |
|---|---|
https://humanmade.com/ | 2,112 ms |
https://humanmade.com/about/ | 1,542 ms |
Recommended fix: Confirm full-page caching is active for anonymous visitors and that cache headers allow the CDN to serve HTML.
2. Category archives set to noindex
MediumFinding: 12 category archives, including /category/engineering/ and /category/life-at-human-made/, return noindex, follow. They also have no canonical, meta description or og:description.
Why it matters: Noindex on archives is often deliberate, but category hubs can rank for topic searches and help crawlers find older posts.
| URL | Evidence |
|---|---|
https://humanmade.com/category/engineering/ | noindex, follow |
https://humanmade.com/category/life-at-human-made/ | noindex, follow |
Recommended fix: Confirm the noindex is intended. If the archives should rank, remove it and add descriptions and canonicals.
3. Navigation link to a redirecting services URL
MediumFinding: 99 pages link to /wordpress-services-and-consulting/, which 301 redirects to /expertise.
Why it matters: A redirect in the main navigation adds a hop on every click and crawl.
| URL | Result |
|---|---|
https://humanmade.com/wordpress-services-and-consulting/ | 301 to /expertise |
Recommended fix: Point the navigation link directly at /expertise.
4. Title length outside the recommended range
LowFinding: 35 titles exceed 60 characters and 20 are under 30, such as /accessibility/ at 23 characters.
Why it matters: Long titles are truncated in search results, and short ones miss context. See on-page SEO checks.
| URL | Evidence |
|---|---|
https://humanmade.com/ai/why-ai-is-exposing-weaknesses-in-enterprise-platforms/ | 66 characters |
https://humanmade.com/accessibility/ | 23 characters |
Recommended fix: Front-load the topic in long article titles, and add a qualifier to short page titles.
5. Empty and generic anchors
LowFinding: Five expertise pages contain links to case studies with no anchor text, and the homepage uses “Read more ➞” anchors.
Why it matters: Descriptive anchors tell users and search engines what a linked case study covers.
| URL | Evidence |
|---|---|
https://humanmade.com/expertise/digital-publishers/ | 3 links without anchor text |
Recommended fix: Use the case study title as anchor text or add an aria-label to card links.

Audit limitations
The crawl was limited to 100 URLs and started from the homepage, so only URLs discovered through internal links and the XML sitemap are represented. A 100-URL crawl does not represent the entire website. Findings reflect the site at the time of the crawl on October 23, 2026. SiteAuditLint analyzed the HTML returned by the server, so content added later by JavaScript and responses that differ for automated clients may not match what a browser shows. This audit evaluates technical observations, not overall business or search performance.
