12 / Compare
Compare answers the question every SEO gets asked after a release: did the site actually improve? It matches two audits of the same site and shows what was fixed, what is new and which URLs changed.
Because every audit is saved in the local database, SiteAuditLint can compare audits without any setup. Run the same site again and the comparison is ready the moment the crawl finishes.
1. What Compare shows
| Change | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | Issue types or URLs that were not present in the earlier audit |
| Fixed | Issues that are gone |
| Increased | Issue types affecting more URLs than before |
| Decreased | Issue types affecting fewer URLs than before |
| Score changes | Site health and every category score, with the difference |
Every change drills down to the exact URLs that were added or fixed, so you can confirm a deployment really resolved what it claimed to.
2. Site health history
History charts track the same site across every audit: Site Health History, Issues Over Time and the Audit Pulse on the Overview, which plots site health and critical issues together.
3. Before and after
Pick any earlier and later audit and compare 20 metrics side by side. It is the view to use in a monthly client report or after a migration.
4. When to compare
- After a site migration or redesign, to catch new broken links and redirect chains.
- After a developer fix, to verify URLs were resolved.
- Before and after a content cleanup, to measure duplicate and thin content changes.
- Weekly with scheduled audits, to catch regressions early.
A comparison is only as good as the crawls behind it. If one audit hit the page limit or was rate limited, some issues may look fixed when they were simply not checked.
