Connect Slack and every audit posts a summary to your channel: site health and its change, critical issues, warnings, what was fixed, and optionally the full issues CSV in the message thread.
Most teams already live in Slack. Instead of asking someone to open a report, SiteAuditLint brings the result to the channel, grouped by severity with links to Linear tickets when that is connected.
1. Connecting Slack
- Create a Slack appAt api.slack.com/apps choose Create New App, From scratch, and pick your workspace.
- Add an incoming webhookTurn Incoming Webhooks on and add a webhook to your channel.
- Paste it into SiteAuditLintSettings > Connections: paste the URL, tick Send Slack messages and Save.
- Send a test messageConfirm it arrives in the channel.
2. When and what to post
| Option | Choices |
|---|---|
| When | After every audit, or only when something gets worse |
| Message | All issues grouped by severity (default), or a short summary of issue types with new URLs |
Both show site health with its change, URLs crawled, critical issues, warnings, what was fixed and a note when the page limit cut the audit short. Audits you stop by hand are not posted.
3. The full issues CSV in the thread
With a bot token saved, each audit uploads a file named like example.com-issues-2026-09-30-audit12.csv into the message thread and adds a Download link. The CSV has one row per URL and issue with severity, evidence, category, new since last audit and how to fix it.
Token rotation makes Slack bot tokens expire after 12 hours. Keep it off for this Slack app so scheduled audits keep posting.
Frequently asked questions
When counts as something getting worse?
New critical issue URLs compared with the previous audit of the same site, or site health dropping 5 points or more. A first audit counts as worse if it has any critical issues.
Why do I need a bot token as well as a webhook?
A webhook can only post text. A bot token with chat:write, files:write and files:read lets SiteAuditLint upload the issues CSV into the message's thread.
Where is the webhook URL stored?
In Windows Credential Manager, never in the settings file or the audit database. Disconnect removes it.
